“I have been wanting to develop an app for over five years. LevTech helped me accomplish that,” shared Cash Holland, owner of Financial BOSS and LevTech participant. “Because of the funding provided, I was able to implement the needed technology to create the app and make my business run more smoothly.”

Offered through Forward Cities’ E3 Durham program with support from NC IDEA, the LevTech Accelerator is designed to help entrepreneurs implement a custom technology solution for their business, while equipping them with mentorship, hands-on training, peer learning, and real-world experimentation. Richard Brown, Knox St. Studios’ Director, Tech Careers served as the program’s Instructor and Edwin Goutier of LaunchPath designed the program’s unique curriculum. This spring, the cohort represented diverse industries, from service-based businesses to business coaching and financial assistance, reflecting the breadth and strength of Durham’s local entrepreneurial ecosystem. E3 Durham Program Director, Jacinta Walker congratulated the cohort and spoke to the dedication they showed throughout the program.

"In just a few short months, this cohort has shown the true power of collaboration. The peer-to-peer support and shared learning made this accelerator not just about technology, but about people uplifting each other. Each participant brought something unique that made the experience rich, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we accomplished together. I can’t wait to see the impact they’ll make in our community and beyond."

The seven entrepreneurs represent the inaugural cohort of LevTech, and helped define what is possible when motivation, vision, and opportunity meet for promising businesses. During the August Third Thursday event, each cohort participant was recognized and was presented with an award for their accomplishment.

Across the cohort, the entrepreneurs collectively participated in numerous hours of mentorship and workshops, conducted research and testing, and made measurable progress in revenue or operational efficiency.

“The cohort assisted me in identifying the best technology for the company and how it can be implemented into the business. As a result, InfiniTee was born," reflected La-Tasha Best-Gaddy, owner of Infinity Bridges.

Another participant, Valerie Moore, owner of LenaGrace Designs said, “One of the most memorable aspects of the cohort has been the opportunity to connect with a knowledgeable group of advisors who are genuinely committed to supporting small businesses. Having access to their insights and advice, especially around the common difficulties that entrepre
