PLACE Builders is an intensive, 3-month fellowship program empowering change-makers to catalyze more equitable entrepreneurial ecosystems.
As an integral part of the fellowship, the program will provide each of the 8 ecosystem building fellows from around the country with a 1:1 ecosystem building mentor that will be specifically selected and matched based on the profile, goals, and priorities for the communities and entrepreneurs they serve.
We are currently recruiting experienced entrepreneurial ecosystem builders who would be open to volunteering to serve - if matched - as a 1:1 mentor for a PLACE Builders fellow. The mentorship portion of the program will take place from May 27 - June 21, 2024 - approximately a 4-week timeframe with an approximate 12-15 hour commitment.
What You Can Expect
- Attend a 1-hour virtual mentor orientation with the PLACE Builders team
- Meet with the assigned fellow at least once a week for one hour each week (3 sessions)
- Provide structured guidance to the fellow based on information provided in their intake form and that has emerged from their work in the program up that point
- Provide helpful feedback and suggestions on the fellow’s emerging community project
- Share informal insights and wisdom from your own personal and professional experience as an entrepreneurial ecosystem builder
- Make key introductions and connections for the fellow that will aid in the advancement of their career and professional network
- Attend a final virtual session with all fellows and mentors
- Participate in a pre- and post-mentorship questionnaire to inform continuous improvement of the program
What we are looking for
- A genuine desire to invest your time, talents, and connections to support emerging generations of entrepreneurial ecosystem builders
- At least 5 years of direct experience serving as an entrepreneurial ecosystem builder within at least one local community
- At least 2 years of direct experience supporting and/or advocating for underrepresented entrepreneurs
- At least 1 year of participation in activities and/or engagement in entrepreneurial ecosystem building thought leadership and/or field advancement.
